PROJECT ENGINEER - HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS
For the position of Hydraulic Systems Project Engineer you will be a qualified technician / advanced apprentice with a minimum HND / degree or a graduate engineer with relevant qualifications.
Hydraulic system and component knowledge is essential whilst experience in associated technical disciplines such as electrical control systems, jigs and fixtures, special purpose machinery or pneumatic systems would be beneficial. A sound understanding of hydraulic circuitry, system design, project costing and management together with experience of undertaking Contract and Design Review would be a distinct advantage.
Approximately 15-20% of your time will be spent preparing detailed schematic, fabrication, mechanical and general arrangement drawings so experience of AutoCad is essential. You will be IT literate and be confident preparing associated documentation (quality plans, method statements, risk assessments and manuals), reports and communications in Word, Excel, Outlook and similar software packages. You must be confident making decisions, managing projects, people and project budgets; you will have considerable problem solving ability and commercial acumen.
With strong interpersonal and consulting skills you will be a team player and have the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and relationships. You will be expected to display a positive and motivational leadership style in order to promote and develop a ‘can do’ culture that is customer and stakeholder focused.
Whilst this position in itself gives an existing or newly qualified Project Engineer the opportunity to specialise in hydraulics it also offers future scope for career progression in engineering management, application sales, concept design & project costing.
