Brazed plate heat exchangers are comprised of a number of moulded stainless steel plates which are vacuum-brazed with copper or nickel.
The special moulding of the plates ensures a turbulent flow which is necessary for an optimum heat transfer and which furthermore brings about a self-cleaning effect, because deposits on the surface are reduced by the high level of wall friction.
Max. operating pressure: 30 bar (nickel-brazed version up to 10 bar possible)
Temperature range: up to 200°C
Application: cooling circuits with water, coolant or oil
Gasketed plate heat exchangers are comprised of a package of individual, moulded heat exchange plates made of stainless steel or titanium, for which seals ensure the separation of the media.
In order to cover the large performance range, various installation sizes with different numbers of plates are available.
In the case of safety plate heat exchangers, 2 plates are brought together as a pair and welded to the connections. In the event of leakage at one of the two plates, the fluid runs into the intermediate space and emerges outside. This means that a mixing of the media can be prevented.
